Ruby Fear

Artist Statement

Ruby Pinedo-Fear

Contemporary Artist

Ruby’s art reflects her diverse experiences and countless new beginnings in new places. Her work is a strata of mark-making, colour, line, form and nuances of many cultures, people, and architecture that have infused her life with a unique depth and perspective. Her art is a thread woven into the collective memory of society and the universal human experience.

It embodies the unity that transcends our differences, reminding us that we are all part of one intricate tapestry, through a complex and layered creative process that mirrors life itself. Ruby applies numerous layers of graphite, charcoal, markers, oil, acrylic, pastel, collage, found materials, and textures, which contribute to a narrative that is both a tribute to creativity, imagination, and self-expression, as well as a reflection of the deep sense of place she carries within. As the creative process unfolds, it becomes a visual story with history and meaning from every layer.
